Protect Pregnant Workers' Rights

UPDATE 5/14/2021: The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act has passed the House in this Congress with a bipartisan vote (315-101). It’s now crucial that we urge the Senate to show the same support – send your message now.

Pregnant workers in the U.S. still lack critical protections in the workplace. Too many employers can fire pregnant employees – or force them to quit or take unpaid leave – instead of providing temporary accommodations. The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) would help combat this by protecting the health and economic security of pregnant workers everywhere.

Now that PWFA has passed the House, action turns to the Senate. We can’t get to President Biden’s desk until the Senate passes the bill. Pregnant workers shouldn’t have to wait any longer: Tell the Senate to support the swift passage of PWFA.

Support the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (S. 1486)

As your constituent, I urge you to do all you can to support the bipartisan Pregnant Workers Fairness Act by co-sponsoring the bill and voting "yes" when it comes to the floor. No one should have to choose between making a living and having a healthy pregnancy – especially as our country continues to grapple with the socio-economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic which has so severely impacted women and women of color. The Senate should vote on and pass this critical, bipartisan bill as soon as possible.

I urge you to protect the health, rights, and economic security of pregnant workers and create a more equitable workplace. Please co-sponsor the bipartisan Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, ensure that the bill moves swiftly through the Senate, and vote "yes" when it comes to the floor.
