Protect Pregnant Workers' Rights

Pregnant workers in the U.S. still lack critical protections in the workplace. Too many employers believe they can fire pregnant employees – or force them to quit or take unpaid leave – instead of providing temporary accommodations that would allow them to remain in the workforce and maintain a healthy pregnancy.

The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) would help stop this unacceptable practice. It is a bipartisan and common-sense bill that would help combat pregnancy discrimination and also protect the health and economic security of pregnant workers.

PWFA passed the House with a huge bipartisan vote (320-73) in the last Congress and we need to do it again as soon as possible. Pregnant workers shouldn’t have to wait any longer. Tell your representative to support the swift passage of the PWFA in this new Congress.

Your Message
Pass the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (HR 2694)

As your constituent, I urge you to do all you can to ensure the swift passage of the bipartisan Pregnant Workers Fairness Act and to vote “yes” when it comes to the floor. No one should have to choose between making a living and having a healthy pregnancy – especially as our country continues to grapple with the socio-economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic which has so severely impacted women and women of color. The House should vote on this critical, bipartisan bill as soon as possible.

I urge you to protect the health, rights, and economic security of pregnant workers to ensure a more equitable workplace. Please do all you can to ensure that the bipartisan Pregnant Workers Fairness Act moves swiftly through the House and vote “yes” when it comes to the floor.

Sincerely,
