Keep DOGE Out of Our Data

DOGE is ignoring our legal requests for transparency – so we're going to court.
The so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) seized access to multiple federal computer systems that house the sensitive personal information of millions of Americans – including our bank accounts, health records, and Social Security numbers. President Trump has even directed agencies to begin “consolidating” our personal information so every agency can see every data point on each of us. This is a massive and potentially illegal invasion of our privacy. We filed over 40 FOIA requests demanding to know what information they have and how they’re using it. But despite their legal obligation, government agencies are still keeping us in the dark about why DOGE’s hands are on our data. That’s why we’re taking the Administration to court, to get answers about threats at both the VA and SSA to the highly sensitive personal data those agencies hold.
Our data is protected by laws that limit who can access it and how it can be used. But DOGE is forcing its way into the government’s most protected systems without consideration of the longstanding privacy safeguards mandated by Congress. We need to demand that our private records not be illegally accessed, analyzed, or weaponized by Trump, DOGE, and an unaccountable team of unvetted outsiders. We’re holding DOGE accountable in court, but Congress has a job to do too. Congress must step up, do its job, and check the president’s violations of our rights.
