Please join us on Tuesday, October 27th at 6:00 PM for a virtual town hall on the future of policing and criminal justice in Illinois. No person should live in fear that they will be the next victim of police violence. Law enforcement officers must be held accountable for any misconduct by them on the job. We must also roll back overly punitive sentencing policies that have incarcerated tens of thousands, draining communities of resources and producing intergenerational cycles of over-policing, trauma, and incarceration. We must move with urgency and resolve to dismantle systemic racism in all governmental institutions and reimagine the role of police and incarceration in our society.
Join us to learn about the ACLU of Illinois' vision for policing and criminal justice and hear directly from elected officials on how they plan on addressing these issues in Illinois this upcoming legislative session. This event will feature:

As we look to the future, we must work in partnership with communities and elected officials to end the epidemic of police violence, unwind mass incarceration, and invest in real solutions to keep our communities safe.
