District attorneys are the most powerful people in the criminal justice system. These elected leaders decide who to charge with a crime, and what kind of crime to charge a person with. They have the power to end mass incarceration, or to fuel it.
Washington County has its first contested DA race in decades. And it’s an opportunity for voters to make their voices heard and to choose what your criminal justice system looks like.
You can meet one of the candidates running for this important office at the Washington County DA Candidate Public Forum. It’s your chance to hear about his platform, ask questions, call for reform, and get the facts before you vote.
