Post-Lobby Day Commitment

Lobby day is an event that we do once a year to bring ACLU volunteer lobbyists to the capitol to talk directly to their legislators. However, over the course of the year, we must continue to organize and amplify our voices. Below are a few things that you can sign up to do post-lobby day.

I commit to doing the following:

Recruiting a friend to attend an ACLU event together.

Writing a letter to the editor for my local newspaper either about the value of my ACLU lobby day experience or in support of at least one of our priority bills.

Organize an in-district meeting with my state representative and/or senator over the summer to follow-up on the ACLU of Missouri’s priority issues.

Attend our “Hate is Not Welcome Here” action on Friday, March 22 from 6 – 9 p.m. in St. Louis, Missouri.

Attend our “School The Vote” event on Tuesday, March 26, from 6 - 8 p.m. in Ferguson, Missouri.

Attend our “Sunshine Request Training” event on Wednesday, April 3, from 4 - 5:30 p.m. in Springfield, Missouri.

Attend our “Sunshine Request Training” event on Wednesday, April 24, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. in Kansas City, Missouri.

Host a house party and invite your friends to learn about the ACLU of Missouri and how you can support our legislative efforts.
