ACLU Lobby Day
If you feel that your rights are being threatened — and even violated — more and more, you're not alone. 2020 will be a landmark year in our mission to protect and promote civil liberties in Minnesota, and we're counting on you to create change by sharing your concerns, your stories and your hopes with your representatives.
Join other ACLU of Minnesota supporters on March 10, 2020 as we take our fight for civil liberties to the state Capitol.
ACLU Lobby Day
Tuesday, March 10, 2020, 1 - 5 p.m.
Minnesota State Capitol, Rotunda
75 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
St Paul, MN 55155
ACLU-MN Lobby Day will open with a rally in the state Capitol Rotunda at 1:30 p.m. Afterwards we'll break up into small groups, each guided by a Lead Volunteer, and we will talk to our individual legislators about key civil rights legislation up for a possible vote this year. We will push legislators to:
- Stop the wealth-based suspension of driver's licenses for traffic tickets and fees, and require courts to consider someone's ability to pay before assessing excessive fines and fees.
- Protect email privacy.
- Require warrants for drone surveillance by police.
- Fix a broken forfeiture system that encourages law enforcement to "police for profit."
All Lobby Day participants get a free ACLU-MN T-shirt!
Sign-up to take direct action and protect civil liberties today.
