Have You Been Targeted by Racist Calls to the Police?

When a white Starbucks manager called the police on two Black men for not making a purchase, her decision led to the men’s arrest – and a renewed national conversation on the perils of having Black skin in America. Soon, more videos went viral showing racial minorities being the target of unreasonable calls to the police.

Calling in law enforcement to investigate people of color for being where they don’t “belong” is not new. It can happen in a Yale dorm. It can happen at a California Airbnb. And it can happen at a college tour in Colorado.

If you’re a person of color who’s had the police called on you for inexplicable or racist reasons, share your experiences and ideas in the submission form below. We may use your story in an evolving collection that we will feature on our website.
