Flights & Rights in Spokane: Immigrant Rights
Monday, July 23rd, 6-8pm
The McGinnity Room
Please join us for our second ACLU Flights & Rights in Spokane. The community of Spokane finds itself on frontlines in the fight for immigrant rights as Trump unleashes Border Patrol and ICE agents across the country. We have seen an alarming rise in agents boarding buses and stopping people going about their daily lives, apparently based on skin color and perceived accents. Unfortunately, racist immigration policy and enforcement is nothing new to the United States. Join ACLU Police Practices & Immigration Counsel, Enoka Herat, and community advocates to hear how today’s struggles fit into our long history of racist immigration policy and what the ACLU and Spokane community are doing to push back right now.
