Event Volunteer Interest Form
Thank you for your interest in becoming an ACLU of Oregon event volunteer! With the help and support of volunteers, the ACLU of Oregon plans and executes many events including the following. Here are some ways in which you can help the ACLU:
- Uncensored Celebration—October 24, 2019, Portland
- Liberty Dinner—February 28, 2020, Portland
- Miscellaneous receptions, forums, and events throughout the state
There are two areas of volunteer support need for sucessful events:
Marketing & Outreach Support Volunteer
Time Commitment:
Up to 3 hours per week, as needed, starting two months prior to the event date.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Market event by hanging promotional posters at local businesses, in neighborhoods, and/or in community spaces.
- Create event postings on local event calendars, websites, and social media groups.
- Outreach to potential event partners to secure auction or raffle items.
On-site Event Support
Time Commitment:
Day of event, approximately two hours prior to the event, duration of event, and one hour after the event.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Set up and breakdown event.
- Greet and check guests in.
- Help run event activities and answer participant questions.
- Support ticket and merchandise sales.
