Celebrate "New Americans" with Vincent Valdez

Whose advocacy work do you admire?

Help the ACLU of Texas' artist-in-residence, Vincent Valdez, celebrate these local advocates.

"New Americans" are working in their communities toward a better America tomorrow, today. They may or may not be new to America, but they believe in a new America that lives up to its promise of liberty and justice for all. These local advocates reflect the unbroken and undying power of "we the people," willing to fight the good fight — not for fame, power, or profit — but because it's still the right thing to do.

Vincent Valdez will meet as many of these advocates as possible, in hopes of collaborating with them to create their portrait and tell their story. They would then be included in a poster packet with Know Your Rights information and other resources to be distributed to communities for free. He'll reach out to you first if you have a personal connection.
