2026 Membership Meeting

National Guard troops, ICE agents, and officers from numerous federal agencies have violated our First Amendment rights, racially profiled communities, and have illegally arrested and detained people—all while being shielded from accountability.

Today, it is easier to hold a restaurant owner accountable for harm than to hold a federal officer responsible for violating constitutional rights. We are fighting for accountability because no one should be above the law, including federal agents. Join us for our 2026 Annual Membership Meeting to hear how we’re fighting for federal accountability and how you can support our work.

This panel-style event will feature Legal Director, Scott Michelman, ACLU National Sr. Policy Council, Nina Patel, Sr. Attorney, Amelia Dagen, Amica Center for Immigrant Rights; and Kishon McDonald, a former client in our Black Lives Matter DC v Trump case, who sued when federal agents fired tear gas, pepper spray capsules, rubber bullets and flash bombs at him during a peaceful protest.

We’ll also introduce our new ACLU-D.C. Board Members and celebrate 65 years the ACLU-D.C. fighting for the rights of everyone who lives, works, and visits the District.
