RSVP for NYCLU and YAFFED's Screening of Unorthodox Education

Unorthodox Education, a 40-minute documentary created by Jewish filmmakers, lifts the curtain on schooling in Hasidic and Haredi communities, through interviews with people who have left the ultra-Orthodox world as well as journalists, academics, and advocates, revealing the human cost of actively depriving kids of a secular education while chronicling a decade-long political struggle for these children.

Immediately following the film, there will be a short panel, featuring Donna Lieberman (NYCLU Executive Director), Adina Mermelstein (Yaffed Executive Director), and the filmmakers. There will be time to ask questions, get updates, and delve deeper into this complex issue.
