Impacted by HB 7? We want to hear from you.
Since HB 7 was signed into law, our attorneys at the ACLU of Florida and in our National office have been evaluating our strongest plan for litigation, and we are reaching out to our supporters to help in those efforts.
What does HB 7 do?
HB 7 chills discussions of race, gender, national origin, and the impact of slavery and systemic oppression in workplaces and classrooms. It prevents educators from discussing these topics in the classroom and allows employees to file discrimination claims against their employer should they host discussions on these topics in the workplace that employees are required to attend.
Here’s how you can help:
- Are you a parent or guardian with a child enrolled in any Florida public school, and are you concerned about the impact HB 7 will have on the quality of your child's education? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
- Are you a college or graduate student concerned about the impact HB 7 will have on your studies? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
- Are you an educator or educational professional whose work has been impacted by HB 7, or are you concerned about the impact of HB 7 on your work and your students’ education? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
- Are you an employer who requires diversity or inclusion training for your employees and are worried about your ability to provide these types of training to your employees now? If so, we'd love to hear from you as well.
