As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread across Washington and the nation, Governor Inslee must take action to prevent an outbreak in Washington prisons, where close quarters make social distancing impossible. Continued inaction is inexcusable. Please use the full extent of your executive powers, including the power of clemency, to ensure the release of medically vulnerable people and others who can be released now.

The more we can reduce the population of prisons across Washington, the less of a chance that those institutions become epicenters for this pandemic.
