New Bill Undermines Voting Rights in Michigan

Some lawmakers in Lansing are working to undermine Michiganders’ voting rights by passing House Joint Resolution B (HJR-B), a dangerous proposal that would impose significant new barriers to voting, with the potential to strip tens of thousands of Michigan citizens of their right to access the ballot.

This resolution doesn’t improve election security; it creates financial and logistical obstacles for eligible voters. If passed, HJR-B will gut key protections enshrined in the Constitution – rights that Michiganders overwhelmingly voted twice to include in our own Constitution in 2018 and 2020. We cannot let that happen.

Contact your lawmaker now to demand they vote against HJR-B and protect voting rights for all eligible Michiganders

I urge you to vote NO on HJR-B
Dear Lawmaker,

I'm writing to urge you to vote AGAINST HJR-B. Michiganders overwhelmingly supported enshrining voting rights in our state constitution - twice. HJR-B undermines the will of Michiganders and has the potential to strip tens of thousands of Michigan citizens of their right to access the ballot. This resolution doesn’t improve election security; it creates financial and logistical obstacles for eligible voters.

Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy, and our democracy works best when every eligible voter can access the ballot box without barriers. Michiganders have proven time and again that we support the key voting rights protections in our state constitution. Please protect our voting rights and vote AGAINST HJR-B.

Sincerely,
