The Trump administration has made it clear it will seek to detain and deport as many people as possible, without regard to their constitutional rights, the rule of law, or their dignity and humanity.

Expanding immigration detention to military facilities sets a dangerous precedent and is contrary to the values embedded in our Constitution. It is also unnecessary, costly, and diverts important resources needed for military readiness. Detaining immigrants at Fort Dix is yet another dehumanizing spectacle by the Trump administration designed to intimidate all of us and deprive those detained of their rights.
