Support Fair Housing in Anne Arundel County!

Anne Arundel is still the ONLY county in our region that doesn’t have any fair housing protections. Bills 55-19 and 57-19 will fix that.

Bill 55-19 prohibits discrimination based on age, ancestry, citizenship, color, creed, disability, familial status, gender identity or expression, marital status, national origin, occupation, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or source of income. Bill 57-19 would codify the Human Relations Commission to enforce the law.

Tell your County Council members that discrimination has no home here. Vote “YES” on Fair Housing Bills 55-19 and 57-19.

Please take action now.

Dear Anne Arundel County Council Member:

Thank you for passing the Workforce Housing law. That issue is critically important. Now, I ask that you take the next step and pass two important fair housing bills: 55-19 and 57-19.

Please continue to keep the key provisions of the fair housing bills intact. It is critically important to (1) establish a long overdue fair housing law in the County; and (2) codify the Anne Arundel Human Relations Commission to provide the necessary local enforcement.

I urge you to vote YES for Bills 55-19 and 57-19 on Tuesday, September 3, without further delay or amendment.

We need to send a message that Anne Arundel County does not tolerate discrimination in housing.
