Shut Down the ICE Detention Machine

Immigrant detention is known for abuse, pervasive medical neglect, and complete disregard for the dignity of people in its custody. In fact, a new report from the ACLU, partners, and medical experts found that nearly all deaths reported in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facilities from 2017-2021 could have likely been prevented if ICE had provided appropriate medical care.

ICE has kept detention facilities open despite these tragic deaths. Instead of reform, the Biden administration is actively attempting to expand the detention system with new contracts to private prison companies that profit off human misery. We must take action: Tell the Biden administration to release medically vulnerable people from ICE detention and shut down the mass detention machine once and for all.

Your Message
Release Medically Vulnerable People from ICE and Close Facilities.

As your constituent, I'm calling on you to release medically vulnerable people from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facilities and close existing detention facilities, especially those with documented patterns of inhumane treatment, in remote locations with compromised access to counsel and medical care, and opened by the prior administration without adequate justification.

Please, I’m asking you to release medically vulnerable people from ICE detention immediately and shut down inhumane ICE facilities once and for all. Your action will help shrink an abusive system that needlessly locks up members of our community and people seeking asylum, and in turn, save lives.

Sincerely,
