The message:

For years, U.S. Customs and Immigration Services has used a secretive policy known as the Controlled Application Review and Resolution Program — or CARRP — to delay and deny aspiring Americans' applications for citizenship or green cards.

Under CARRP, the government can secretly decide who is a "national security concern" based on virtually anything. Maybe you travel to particular parts of the world, have knowledge of a second language, or have an advanced scientific degree – all of these are real reasons immigration officers might use. Moreover, the government refuses to tell people when they've been subjected to this policy — tearing their personal and professional lives apart without due process.

It's unconscionable. Everyone applying for a green card or citizenship should be treated fairly and equally. Send a message today and urge immigration officials to rescind this cruel immigration policy before more people are harmed.

Subject:

END CARRP

Body:

I am deeply concerned about USCIS’s "extreme vetting" policy, known as CARRP, which places thousands of otherwise eligible green-card and citizenship applicants in "immigration purgatory" without due process.

This isn’t how our immigration system is supposed to work. I'm urging USCIS to rescind this cruel policy immediately instead of continuing to harm people who are simply seeking the welcome, safety, and opportunity that our country promises.

Sincerely,
