Don't let our legislators police our bathroom use

Transgender people, whether you know it or not, are already using the restrooms they have a right to – and doing so without incident.
But, some of our state legislators would rather police people's bathroom use than share spaces with those who are different.
House Bill 1259 would prohibit transgender people from using restrooms aligned with their gender identity in public schools or on state-owned property – including prisons and university campuses.
This bill isn't motivated by privacy concerns. Like previous efforts to expel people of color, people with disabilities, and others from communal spaces, these arguments for privacy just mask a fear of difference. Rather, House Bill 1259 is motivated by ignorance, misinformation, and fear.
The fight for trans rights is not about "special rights" – it's about fundamental rights. It's about fairness and equality for all. It doesn't infringe on anyone rights to share spaces with those who are different.
Ask your State Senator to oppose House Bill 1259.
