The message:

The Trump administration is threatening the education of millions of students by dismantling the Department of Education, cutting key offices and staff responsible for combatting racial discrimination and protecting the rights of students with disabilities.

Now Congress is deliberating over more deep cuts in the budget for fiscal 2026. In the coming weeks over $2B will be on the line for critical programs that educate our students and provide them with equal access to educational opportunities across the country.

The Department of Education has an enormous effect on the day-to-day lives of students. They are tasked with protecting civil rights in schools and ensuring that every student – regardless of where they live, their family's income, or their race, sex, gender identity, or disability – has equal access to education. We must all tell Congress to reject any cuts to education and ensure every student has the support they need to reach their full potential. Send your message now.

Subject:

Save the Department of Education

Body:

As your constituent, I urge you to oppose cuts to education in the FY26 federal funding bill which would harm students and parents. The FY26 education funding bill has outlined many proposed cuts that will eliminate billions of dollars in resources and services to K-12 students. Programs like pre-literacy, reading and writing, before- and after-care, and speech services for students with disabilities are just a few that will be defunded under the bill.

Please, oppose cuts to education in the FY26 funding bill and take a stance against these alarming attacks on the Department of Education. The impacts will be felt by nearly every child and parent unless Congress acts now to protect our students.

Thank you,
