The message:

The Trump administration is jeopardizing education for millions of students by gutting the Department of Education as it closed key offices and fired half of its workforce.

This is all part of President Trump’s attempts to terminate the Department of Education – and now there are two bills in Congress that could alarmingly accomplish exactly that: H.R. 2456 and S. 1148. The Department of Education has an enormous effect on the day-to-day lives of students across the country. They are tasked with protecting civil rights on campus and ensuring that every student – regardless of where they live, their family's income, or their race, sex, gender identity, or disability – has equal access to education. We tell Congress to vote NO on H.R. 2456 and S. 1148 and stop Donald Trump from harming students and parents by dismantling the Department of Education. Send your message now.

Subject:

Save the Department of Education

Body:

As your constituent, I urge you to oppose on H.R. 2456 and S. 1148 – two bills that would fulfill Donald Trump’s plans to terminate the Department of Education and harm students and parents across the country. By closing key offices and conducting mass layoffs, President Trump has already attempted to bypass Congress and effectively gut programs critical to protect students' education and civil liberties. We cannot let these actions go further.

Please, oppose H.R. 2456 and S. 1148 and take a stance against these alarming attacks on the Department of Education. The impacts will be felt by nearly every child and parent unless Congress acts now to protect our students and the civil servants who fight for them.

Thank you,
