The South Kingstown Town Council is expected to discuss the continued use of Flock Safety automated license plate reader cameras at a meeting on Monday, July 27. This meeting is your opportunity to tell the Council what you think of Flock Safety cameras!

Our privacy concerns: Flock Safety cameras can capture much more information than just license plates, and they can opt into sharing that data with other police departments and federal agencies across the country, creating a vast network of surveillance technology.

For example, Flock Safety camera data from local police nationwide has been shared with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to find and target people, used to track protesters, and even used by police in Texas to find a woman who was suspected of having an abortion.

Regardless of what the police say their intentions are in using the system, there are no state laws protecting our privacy rights, our data, or government transparency in the usage of Flock Safety cameras.

That's why it's important to speak out against this surveillance system. Fill out this form to contact the South Kingstown Town Council before their next meeting on Monday, July 27, and urge them to cancel their contract with Flock Safety.
