The Background:

Since President Trump took office, he's sent federal agents into our streets in record numbers to round up and detain people en masse.

The consequences have been dire. When residents have gathered to observe, record, or protest deportations and law enforcement activity, agents have retaliated – in some cases, tackling observers, tailing their vehicles to sit outside their homes, and harassing observers by name. The government has even killed people in our streets. And recordings of the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti are what let us know what happened, despite the government's lies.

We can't hold our government accountable if we can't see what they're up to. That's why we're urging Congress to pass the Right to Record Act – a new bill that would allow people to sue federal agents who violate our First Amendment right to record their actions in public. Tell your members of Congress to co-sponsor and pass this bill immediately.
