Congress: Pass The Equality Act

LGBTQ people still lack explicit and comprehensive nondiscrimination protections. And the harsh reality is that discrimination and harassment remains a persistent problem in key areas of everyday life – especially for transgender people.

Any day now, the Supreme Court could issue a decision that would roll back existing protections for LGBTQ people in the workplace, which could carryover to health care, housing and other contexts. But the Equality Act would explicitly prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity — no matter what the court decides. The House passed the Equality Act, so now it's incumbent on the Senate to finish this work. Send a message to your senators now.

Vote YES on H.R. 5, the Equality Act

As your constituent, I urge you to support the Equality Act (H.R. 5), which would finally provide explicit and comprehensive nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ people - protections that are urgently needed.

All of us should be able to fully participate in public life, and not be judged based on characteristics like our sexual orientation or gender identity. Everyone deserves a fair chance to support themselves, provide for their family, and live as their true selves free from the fear of harassment or discrimination. Please vote yes on H.R. 5, the Equality Act.
