The Ohio General Assembly passed Senate Bill 27, an unconstitutional bill designed to stigmatize abortion, abortion providers, and those seeking an abortion. This bill – which serves no legitimate purpose – would require abortion clinics to provide burial or cremation for fetal and embryonic tissue.

The law exclusively targets abortion providers, and requires that they pay for the cost of cremation or interment of fetal tissue. This is calculated to drive up the cost of obtaining abortions and put additional strain on patients and clinics across Ohio.

URGE GOVERNOR DEWINE TO VETO THIS RADICAL BILL.

There is no medically justifiable reason to force abortion clinics to adhere to this new, highly burdensome requirement.

Bottom line: Ohioans who make the highly personal and private decision to end a pregnancy deserve to be treated with respect and compassion – not forced to consider medically unnecessary cremation and burial procedures.

Contact Governor DeWine and urge him to veto this bill and put a stop to this unending line of legislative harassment.
