Thanks to massive pushback from supporters like you, Congress has refused to give any new money to ice and Border Patrol for months, a direct response to the brutality and lawlessness these agencies have perpetuated in our communities.

But now, Congressional leaders in both the House and Senate have taken steps to push through this obscene funding by bypassing normal congressional procedures altogether. They are using a highly partisan process called reconciliation to give billions of dollars to these out-of-control agencies without any strings attached, all while cutting benefits that help communities meet their basic needs.

The fight is not over yet. This ice and Border Patrol funding reconciliation bill must still pass both the House and the Senate.

ICE and Border Patrol operations across the country are out of control – violently and unlawfully arresting, targeting, and harming children, families, and our communities. We also have yet to see any accountability for the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti or the many others who have been harmed. Meanwhile, the current reconciliation proposal would give up to an additional $140 billion to these agencies without any strings attached. It’s unacceptable: Please refuse any new money to these agencies without serious reforms.

Please block any funding for ICE or Border Patrol unless it includes safeguards against racial profiling, warrantless arrests, and the detention of children; creates actual accountability for agents, including real limits on use of force and surveillance of protesters; and mandates agents identify themselves, take off their masks, wear and use body cameras, and ensure that footage is available for investigations and accountability.
