Since taking office, President Trump has illegally tried to defund programs he doesn't like: From health research and clinical trials studying diseases and chronic illnesses, to successful early childhood education and college preparation programs, to initiatives that reduce discrimination against people of color, domestic violence survivors, disabled veterans, seniors, and more.

Now, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is illegally trying to hand over power to the Trump administration to pick and choose who gets federal money based solely on whether or not those recipients agree with the president's political agenda.

This rule change would illegally grant President Trump the power to intensify his partisan attacks without any consideration for the laws Congress enacted, objective criteria, or community needs.

Federal funding must comply with the law and should support communities, not discriminatory political agendas. Tell Congress to demand OMB rescind its proposal and ensure that congressionally authorized funds reach the communities that federal law requires them to serve.
