Tell the IBWC: No Private Border Walls on Public Land!

TAKE ACTION NOW

We urgently need your help. We’ve learned that anti-immigrant extremists Steve Bannon and Kris Kobach, working alongside the same vigilantes that recently held migrant families seeking asylum at gunpoint in Southern New Mexico, are attempting an end run around the will of the American people by building a privately-funded border wall on federal property in Sunland Park, NM.

We can’t let that happen.

Time is of the essence: e-mail using the form below and then call the public contact for the International Boundary and Water Commission at (915) 832-4106 and say:

  • Your name and where you live
  • Ask that they demand removal of the gate blocking access to public lands containing the historic Monument One marker
  • Ask that they reject We Build the Wall's pending permit application for their private border wall in Sunland Park, New Mexico.
  • Tell them you believe the private border wall is a racist vanity project that will block residents from accessing culturally significant monuments, destroy our wildlands, endanger the environment, and hurt border communities.

That’s it! If you don’t reach a live person, please leave a voicemail with your message. Please be courteous.

Your Message

I am writing to urge the International Boundary & Water Commission to demand that the group We Build the Wall immediately remove the steel gate they have erected blocking access to public lands and deny any future permits for the construction of a private border wall or barrier on federal lands administered by the IBWC.

Please remove the illegal gate and protect access to Monument One by denying any permits to build private barriers on federal property. Building private barriers on public lands subverts the will of the American people through congress, which has already rejected further construction of border walls on multiple occasions. This wall has no place in our community and we urge you to cease aiding in its construction.

Sincerely,
