The message:

People shouldn't sit in jail just because they can't afford bail – and that's why in 2018, New Hampshire passed important reforms to prevent that while still ensuring that anyone dangerous could be held without bail.

But right now, New Hampshire lawmakers are deciding on a bill that would roll back those important reforms. The bill, HB 592, would take us back to the pre-2018 system and unnecessarily incarcerate thousands of Granite Staters – at great financial cost – simply because of the amount of money in their wallet.

There's no time to wait: tell your state senator to oppose HB 592 when it comes to a vote soon.
