I urge you, as my elected official, to oppose Senate Bill 437 as yet another attack on our trans family members, friends, and community members. These efforts to redefine sex and prevent transgender people from living as the gender they know themselves to be are connected to a larger strategy to push transgender people out of public and civic life.

Additionally, by reducing the human experience of sex to reproductive gametes, the bill also completely erases intersex and nonbinary identities.

The existence of transgender people is not new - but there is a new and outsized focus on our lives meant to spread fear and anxiety.
