Natalie Pollard's abuser attempted to break into her house. He then attempted to assault her as her four young children slept upstairs. In self-defense, Natalie stabbed her abuser with a knife. She immediately called 911, but they could not save him when they arrived.

Ramsey County Attorney John Choi charged Natalie with second-degree murder. She was convicted by an all-white jury (9 of whom were men) with an improper justifiable-taking-of-life instruction. Her conviction was overturned by the Minnesota Court of Appeals. But now County Attorney John Choi's office has decided to retry this case.

Ramsey County Attorney John Choi campaigned on ending gender-based violence; and yet, he is seeking to punish a victim of domestic violence for protecting herself and her children from a known abuser. Call on Ramsey County Attorney John Choi to dismiss the charges against Natalie.
