Minnesotans Shouldn't Be Guilty By Association

TAKE ACTION NOW

Tell your state legislators to VOTE NO to a bill that would make anybody responsible if they are even remotely associated with a protest or assembly in which damage or trespass to critical infrastructure (i.e., pipelines, roads, bridges) occurs.

Minnesota already has laws in place to protect critical infrastructure. HF 3693/SF 3463 is not about protecting Minnesotans — it’s a bill driven by corporate interest groups designed to restrict and discourage assembly and free speech. This bill is unconstitutional, undemocratic, and unnecessary.

Dear Legislators,

As your constituent, I am seriously concerned about the new critical infrastructure bill currently before the Minnesota legislature. HF 3693 and its companion bill, SF 3463, would make Minnesotans civilly liable if they are even remotely associated with an assembly in which any damage or trespass to critical infrastructure occurs. The bill would have wide sweeping negative consequences for all Minnesotans.

Minnesota law already addresses criminal trespass of critical infrastructure, as well as criminal conspiracy and aiding and abetting. This bill is unconstitutional, undemocratic, and unnecessary. VOTE NO on this guilty-by-association bill and protect the rights of all Minnesotans.

Sincerely,
