Every day, unregulated data brokers buy and sell personal location data from apps on our cellphones, revealing where we live, work, play, access healthcare services, and more. This data paints a detailed record of every single aspect of our personal and professional lives. It shows everything from when we leave the house in the morning to how we get to work and where we take our children to daycare or school.

With extremism on the rise and personal data increasingly exploited to attack people online and in person, we need to safeguard these sensitive details from prying eyes. No person should be required to give up their most private information in exchange for carrying a cellphone.

To protect children, domestic abuse victims, abortion patients and providers, trans people and their families, journalists, elected officials, immigrants, and everyone else, Massachusetts needs to pass the Location Shield Act.

Urge your state legislators to pass bills that will protect Bay Staters and assert Massachusetts values!
