After Roe v. Wade was overturned, Massachusetts quickly passed one of the nation's strongest laws to protect abortion patients and providers.

Now, in the face of more attacks on abortion and gender-affirming care, the House and Senate have advanced legislation to strengthen those protections. Legislators are negotiating some provisions, working to ensure the strongest version of the bill ultimately and urgently lands on Governor Healey's desk.
