For too long, Big Tech and data brokers have been abusing and misusing our personal information, including by selling our cellphone location data to anyone with a credit card. Thanks to your help, Massachusetts lawmakers are close to finalizing historic data privacy legislation that would ban the worst of these abuses and give us all more control over our personal information.

But that legislation is only as good as the enforcement language backing it up. Big Tech lobbyists are hard at work trying to take away our right to go to court when they violate the law.

Join us in calling on lawmakers to include a private right of action in the final consumer data privacy legislation to give Bay Staters the right to hold Big Tech accountable when they violate our privacy!

I am happy to see ongoing bipartisan support for data privacy law. However, I am concerned that without a private right of action, the biggest companies will ignore the law! Ordinary people need to be able to take Big Tech to court if our privacy rights are violated.
