Support Critical Pro-Civil Liberties Bills in Michigan
In the final hours of this legislative session, we're asking for your help on a few more bills that we consider must-pass legislation.
We need your urgent help to contact your state senators now and demand they pass these bills:
- Public and District Library Freedom to Read Act (House Bills 6034 and 6035): Protects Michigan’s public libraries against censorship attempts.
- Prevent Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation, better known as “SLAPP” (House Bill 5788): Deters SLAPPs, which attempt to intimidate individuals for exercising their First Amendment rights to speak out on issues that impact business and government actions.
- Contraceptive Access Legislation (House Bills 5013, 5435, and 5436): Protects and expands patients’ access and affordability to contraceptives.
- Legal Name Changes And Sex Designations On Certain Identification Documents (House Bills 5300-5303): Vital to affirming LGBTQ+ Michiganders’ gender identity.
Let’s do all we can in these final hours so our legislators have no choice but to listen and act this week.
