Ending Capital Punishment in the Commonwealth

As your constituent and a Kentuckian, I think it’s time we have a conversation about our state’s broken death penalty system. A two-year review by Kentucky’s top legal experts found “serious problems persist” in state death penalty procedures. Disturbingly, of the 78 people sentenced to death in Kentucky, 50 have had their death sentence overturned on appeal by state or federal courts. That is an error rate of more than 60 percent.

I hope that you will take time to learn more about this issue, then work with your colleagues in the legislature to end the death penalty in Kentucky, once and for all.
