The message:

President Trump has cut millions in funding to programs that keep our communities safer, like mental health crisis response, violence intervention programs, and substance use treatment. Yet he's spent over a billion taxpayer dollars to send armed, masked federal agents to commit horrifying abuses against immigrants, protestors, and children.

Unaccountable government actors put all of us – and our rights – in jeopardy. Most constitutional violations by federal agents are never even heard in a courtroom. Victims rarely see justice – and officers rarely ever face accountability.

The Bivens Act and the Constitutional Accountability Act would give people real recourse when their rights are violated. Together, they give victims the right to sue both the federal agent and the agency responsible for constitutional violations.

These bills create meaningful accountability for reckless government cruelty – and would actually help make our communities safer by establishing consequences for misconduct. Urge Congress to pass these bills now.
