Indiana lawmakers are threatening to make an already bad bill even worse, and we need you to make your voice heard right away.
SB 442 would politicize sexual health education by mandating that school boards approve this type of instruction and post learning materials on the school website. Because the bill uses the overly broad term “human sexuality," this mandate will apply far beyond just sexual health education to include lessons on subjects such as literature, history, and biology.
A proposed amendment would go even further by requiring students to watch a medically inaccurate video about fetal development produced by an anti-abortion group.
It is bad enough that the Indiana legislature has stripped Hoosiers of their rights by imposing an abortion ban. Now, some want to use schools to promote anti-abortion propaganda.
Act now to tell lawmakers: sexual health education is too important to politicize.
