TELL THE LEGISLATURE TO REPEAL GAGS ON INDIANA DOCTORS

Indiana is one of only four states that prohibits doctors and other practitioners from "aiding and abetting" transgender youth and their families seeking necessary health care. This prohibition prevents licensed professionals from communicating with families and any out-of-state doctors who provide this care for children.
As a result, Hoosier youth are receiving substandard care because their medical teams can’t communicate basic health care information across state lines.
To be clear, we intend to fight until all healthcare rights are restored for trans youth in Indiana. But this repeal would be one step that families and doctors say would improve the quality-of-care trans youth receive right now.
Tell Rep. Brad Barrett, chair of the House Public Health Committee, to give the bill a hearing.
We'll be straightforward: getting this bill heard in this legislature is a long shot. But it isn't enough to fight the many bad bills legislators are considering. It's time to tell Indiana lawmakers about the things we DO want them to focus on to make this state a better place to live for all Hoosiers.
