ICE and Border Patrol are deploying facial recognition technology to target members of our communities and violate our rights. Across the country, they're using an app to scan people's faces and check immigration status – ignoring passports and other evidence of citizenship status in favor of this faulty and biased technology. The New York Times has even reported that it's being used on protesters. This lawless government conduct must end.

Under President Trump, the Department of Homeland Security has expanded its use of untrustworthy, unvetted surveillance technologies to track immigrants, protesters, and people documenting ICE abuses. One ICE officer even snapped a photo of a woman lawfully recording and told her she was being put in a "domestic terrorist" database. The government is using this technology to sow fear and chill our right to speak out.

The ICE Out of Our Faces Act draws a clear line to fight back: Immigration agencies cannot buy, access, or deploy facial recognition technology in our communities. Tell Congress to pass this bill now and keep ICE from subjecting us to this dangerous and irresponsible technology.
