The message:

For too long, the more than 700,000 residents of D.C. have lived without voting representation in our federal government, and now Congress is poised to introduce a series of bills that would overrule D.C.'s self-governance even more – including new crime bills, attempts to overhaul D.C.'s public education system, and stripping back policing transparency measures that the D.C. Council passed. Through this same "congressional review" process, Congress has shot down D.C. laws and budgets in the past, stopping D.C. from protecting abortion care and even enforcing local traffic laws – all policies that locals care about and voted for.

This is unconscionable. The federal government needs to respect the will of local D.C. voters to create local reforms, but instead, extreme politicians in Congress are undercutting the voice of hundreds of thousands of American citizens to pursue their political agenda. We must act now: Send a message to Congress urging them to stop interfering with D.C.'s local governance.
