URGENT: Repeal Florida’s Extreme Abortion Ban

Act Now

No one—no politician, no lawmaker, no bureaucrat—should have the power to make personal medical decisions for anyone else. Yet, Florida’s extreme abortion ban strips women of this fundamental freedom, even when their health is at risk.

This is government overreach at its worst.

Doctors take an oath to put their patients first—but under Florida’s law, they are forced to choose between providing necessary medical care and the risk of criminal prosecution. Women in life-threatening situations are left waiting, suffering, or forced to leave the state for care. This is cruel, dangerous, and unacceptable. When it comes to something as personal and complicated as pregnancy, politicians are never more qualified to make health care decisions than women and their doctors.

Florida’s abortion ban goes against what the majority of Floridians want. More than 57% of voters supported Amendment 4—a clear mandate to restore reproductive freedom. And while it fell just short of the 60% threshold to amend the constitution, the message is undeniable: Floridians do not want politicians controlling their medical decisions.

That’s why we need your urgent support of House Bill 1139/Senate Bill 870 which will repeal Florida’s extreme abortion ban and restore the rights that had protected Floridians for nearly 50 years.

Send your message below and tell them: Stop the government overreach. Respect the will of the people and repeal Florida’s extreme abortion ban.

I am writing deeply concerned about Florida’s extreme abortion ban, which has already put lives at risk. I urge you to support HB 1139/SB 870 to restore Floridians’ reproductive freedom and repeal Florida’s dangerous, unnecessary, and unpopular ban.

This law is forcing doctors into impossible situations—delaying or denying critical medical care out of fear of criminal prosecution. We have already seen the devastating consequences of extreme abortion bans on women.

-Anya Cook was 16 weeks pregnant when her water broke long before her baby was viable. She was turned away from care until it was nearly too late because doctors were gripped by fear of prosecution under Florida’s cruel abortion ban.

-Deborah Dorbert was expecting their second child when doctors diagnosed the fetus with Potter syndrome, a fatal condition that makes survival outside the womb impossible. Florida's abortion ban forced Deborah to carry the pregnancy to term, enduring months of emotional and physical pain, only for the baby to die shortly after birth.

These stories aren't isolated incidents—they are part of a larger crisis where government interference in healthcare is costing women their lives.

In November 2024, more than 57% of Floridians voted to limit government interference with abortion. A majority voted to restore reproductive freedom—setting a clear mandate that Floridians want access to essential healthcare. The people have spoken, and it’s time for our elected leaders to listen.

To save lives, protect our fundamental freedoms, and honor the voices of the millions who demanded change, I urge you to support HB 1139/SB 870 and take immediate action to repeal Florida’s cruel and dangerous abortion ban. Every day this ban remains in place, real people suffer—their health, dignity, and futures are on the line. It’s time to do what’s right.

Sincerely,
