As your constituent, I am writing to ask you to ensure the government is protecting our privacy by demanding a stop to DOGE and other agencies' unauthorized access to our most personal information and an end to the dangerous “consolidation” efforts.
DOGE's access to databases at the Veterans Administration, the Social Security Administration, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare, and other agencies raises serious concerns about their compliance with legal requirements that ensure executive agencies are responsible stewards of our data. Further, the reported use of untrustworthy AI to consolidate our data gives government employees unprecedented access to data far beyond what's needed to perform their duties - with little constraint or oversight, ensuring our data stays safe. This puts all of us at risk of cybersecurity incidents, while increasing the chance of inaccuracies that could delay or deny benefits, wrongly flag people for investigation, and waste taxpayer resources.
Abuse of data and governmental procedures opens the door for wider abuses, including unconstitutional impoundment of funds, dismantling programs that help everyday Americans, corrupt use of sensitive confidential information for personal gain, and mass government surveillance.
As your constituent, I urge you to conduct immediate oversight into DOGE's actions and fight back against these intrusive privacy invasions.
Sincerely,
