End Mass Incarceration, Keep CA Families Together

Pass SB 136

California has some of the harshest sentencing enhancements in the country, fueling mass incarceration and disproportionately locking up people of color. That’s why we’re supporting SB 136, a bill that will eliminate a one-year sentencing enhancement that adds additional years to the sentences of people with prior felony convictions – even though they’ve already served their time.

Putting thousands of Californians behind bars for longer periods of time is not the answer. It’s unfair, ineffective, expensive, and hasn’t made our communities safer.

We need to pass SB 136 to advance racial justice and keep families together. Email your state assembly member now and ask them to vote YES on SB 136.
