Punishment for U of A protesters is wrong

TAKE ACTION NOW

Three University of Arizona students are being charged with crimes for protesting Border Patrol’s presence on campus. That’s an extreme, unnecessary reaction that the university and the Pima County prosecutor should correct. Contact University of Arizona President Dr. Robert C. Robbins and Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall and tell them you want the charges dropped.

Please take action now.

Please do not seek criminal punishment or university discipline for three University of Arizona students who protested Border Patrol’s presence on campus, Mariel Alexandra Bustamante, Denisse Moreno Melchor, and Marianna Ariel Coles-Curtis.

Please, do not pursue criminal charges or university discipline against these three students so that their studies are not disrupted and student speech on the University of Arizona campus is not chilled in the future.

Sincerely,
