HCR 2042 is a direct attempt to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in Arizona, which were created to address systemic inequality. Rather than promoting fairness, this ballot referral would eliminate programs designed to reduce racial and ethnic disparities in education and employment. Arizona thrives because of a diverse and inclusive society, but this proposal would turn back progress to ignore systemic inequity and deny the benefits of expanding opportunity for all.
