Support LGBTQ Equality!

TAKE ACTION NOW

Did you know Alaska’s human rights law does not protect LGBT individuals from discrimination?

While communities like Anchorage, Juneau and Sitka have enacted local non-discrimination ordinances, LGBTQ individuals elsewhere in Alaska lack similar protections. Everyone deserves equal treatment under the law, and no one should be fired from their job, evicted from their home, or turned away from a business just because of who they are or whom they love.

House Bill 82/Senate Bill 82 would prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, and take a significant step toward making Alaska the fair, free and welcoming state we all want it to be.

Urge your state legislators to co-sponsor these bills now!

Your Message

As someone who cares about equal rights for LGBTQ Alaskans, I ask that you co-sponsor House Bill (HB) 82/Senate Bill (SB 82), legislation that would prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

Everyone deserves equal treatment under the law, and no one should be fired from their job, evicted from their home, or turned away from a business just because of who they are or whom they love. HB 82/SB 82 would take a significant step towards making Alaska the fair, free and welcoming state we all want it to be. Your co-sponsorship is an important show of support.

Sincerely,
