Every year during the state budget process, New Jerseyans get a chance to urge our elected officials to put our money where our values are. That's rights and justice for all. From providing legal representation to immigrants facing detention and deportation to ensuring law schools can continue to represent tenants facing eviction, we have ideas on how New Jersey can prioritize rights and justice for all in the FY27 state budget.
A state’s budget reflects its values and priorities. As Governor Sherrill prepares to deliver her first budget address, we hope she uses this opportunity to prioritize policies and programs that advance equity and justice in our state. As New Jersey – and the nation – responds to changes in federal policy that increasingly place New Jerseyans at risk, it’s more important than ever that the Garden State funds services and programs that help us defend against attacks by the Trump administration and support the communities most deeply impacted by new and exacerbated racial and economic inequities.
Take action now and tell your elected officials to allocate resources for the rights and justice of all New Jerseyans— send a message today.
