People who have paid their debt to society need support, not more punishment

On Wednesday, the Houston City Council will vote on Agenda Item #76, a proposed ordinance that will make it harder for those who have served their time to successfully reintegrate into society. Specifically, the ordinance will prohibit formerly incarcerated people from living in group homes within 1,000 feet of a school, park, or another boarding house. And with Houston's 370 parks and 287 schools, that leaves almost nowhere for them to go.
